John Lewis was a remarkable and great human being, who left a legacy that we can all learn and benefit from. He showed by example how we can and should make necessary and "good" trouble, and to speak out when there is injustice and bigotry. We cannot afford to be passive or indifferent, especially in these times, when the soul of America is at stake. I wish I had met John Lewis, but I thank him for his guidance in showing us how to peacefully protest. There are so many amazing adjectives that we can apply to John Lewis, but he is and always will be a National Treasure who fortunately lived in our lifetime.

May God Bless Rep. John Lewis. Sir, you have done so much for everyone! Your courage, humility, empathy and forgiving nature has been a beacon as your life exemplified "A Thousand Points of Light." I wish you will be in my company when I get to Heaven. So, let me offer this prayer my grandmother taught me and I teach my children.
May the Light of God Surround you.
May the Love of God Enfold you.
May the Power of God Protect you.
May the Presence of God Watch over you.
Wherever you are, May God be With you.
Thank you Mr. John Robert Lewis

Not many people are beloved as a person and an icon. John Lewis was both. I mourn his passing, emotionally and intellectually.

John Lewis has been my hero for many decades, ever since I heard of his courageous stance on the Edmund Pettus Bridge. I am 72, and he has stood for everything worth fighting for in my life and in this country since that day. Because of him, I have tried to stand up against injustice ever since my teens. I thank him, I honor him and I will miss him forever.

John Lewis was the embodiment of what a true leader should strive to be .
His dedication and commitment was unswerving ,his courage was unquestionably. All that need be said of John Lewis is "Well done good and faithful servant " I pray his example will be mirrored and imitated by young people of all races around the globe.
