Mr. Lewis,
It is often easier for me to express myself with a guitar in my hand than it is with words alone. I wanted to thank you in the best way I knew how: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10158179232891777&id=46915136776

As the song says: “Simply the best, better than all the rest...”
I would like to buy a reprint of the thank you page you had printed in the Washington Post. I teach leadership so seeing servant leadership leadership included in that ad, I just had to have one framed for my study. Can you sell me a reprint?

Thank You for being my Congressman, I learned SO much from you, God is good. I am grateful for the times we met and for teaching me to forgive others, who beat me because I was LGBTQ. You were a voice to to HRC and Equality over all and you made me feel " I Belong" and I never could thank you enough. I will miss you more than anyone will ever know, still reeling over your loss. My condolences to your family, Staff, Nancy Pelosi who loved you and most of all President Obama for that amazing tribute to you! You stood tall at just 5ft 6inches and you teased me about being taller than you. To ME you were over 20 feet tall. I love you John Lewis and may God comfort you in his warmth and light and Love. I will see you soon, as God calls his flock back one by one. Rest In Peace My Friend, you truly were a beacon of hope, in an era where Evil and Hate and disproportions test us. Miles and Lillian were SO lucky to have you. Good Night for now, Amen

Mr. Lewis,
"Thank You"for devoting your entire life struggling to give life to these words from "The Declaration Independence's" " We hold these truths to be self evidence, that all people are created equal!
You have stood with all who have been forgotten, abused and left behind. Unjust laws an cruelty. unimaginable brutality suffering beyond belief.
Many people have felt this knees upon the necks Brown, Yellow. White and Red, LGBTQ. Evrty day the injustices to the dignity and respect for all.
Most especially, at this time, this place. This man, George Floyd’s time was a pivotal moment , a turning point in the history of America. A small cell phone video. "Gave proof though the night ac" Black Lives Matter!! Truly Matter!!!
Each time I see the footage of you all being beaten I cringe. When I see the fresh bandages on your head I get goose bumps. How could you? Why would you?
Blows to your head, so hard they cracked your skull open and you still clung to life. You got up and continued with even more determination.
That hurts my heart and mind today as if I were there to witness. I shudder at the thought how much it must have hurt.
I can hear the crack in my head. The sound of an egg multiplied a million times with maximum volume. In those days, medical assistant most likely weren't as capable as now. I marvel that you were able to continue. Truly amazing!!
You arose, so to speak from dead, with an even stronger determination to fight for your Black Families right to live in a just and fair world. With
"Life, liberty and Justice for all!
We all deserve chance flower under this promise of America. "With Liberty and justice for all."
But more specifically the right of Our Black Families Brothers and Sisters, who for so long been savagely beaten, and starved in every possible aspect of life. Of humanity. Discarded as trash after being, abuse and misused, degraded.
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. Thank you creating this moment. This time in the universe. Your years of seeking spirit. The wisdom and knowledge of non-violence and how to apply it. yKnowledge, humanity tremendous humility and strength.
"Thank you " for your truly unselfish life . Thank you for all the many giant steps youve created with some 'Good Trouble "
Your efforts toward making sure every prescious person and life on this great planet throughout universe, from the past, present and future have a
True life of " Libery and justice for all!"
Nothing is by accident! Great warriors with truth and justice never give up or lose hope
They only stop to catch a breath, survey the land and continue on. Using the lessons from the past to create a pathway into the future. The outcome determined by the those that continue the dream with hope, confidence courage and joy!!joy!!Joy""
And Finally Mr. Lewis
Mr. Lewis
My mother grew up in segregated Galvestonn Texas in 1910. She told me so many stories and nevet seemed hateful.
She used to say, "Life is like a garden!. It needs all different kinds of flowers and colors to make it beautiful.
She was much wiser than I understood at 4.
Today at 73. I do understand!!. They called it mother wit.
I would say " looking around at the garden, I think you have a Green Thumb !!!
With extreme gratitude and respect!!
